"Train up a child in the way he is to go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6.

It is a known fact that the early training of a child is the most significant training he receives. An early childhood experience permeated by Christianity provides a child with added richness. Not only are his mental, emotional, social, and physical needs recognized, but also his spiritual needs.

Pamela Burns

Pam Burns

PAMELA BURNS grew up in Newburgh, New York. She received her B.A. from Ladycliff College in Highland Falls in 1975, and her M.S. from SUNY New Paltz in 1980. She resides in Pine Bush with her husband, Royce Burns, of 43 years. She enjoys spending time with her children and 11 grandchildren whenever possible. She loves to camp and travel with her husband and dogs.

While working towards her teaching degree, Pamela was also raising her four sons. She did some substituting and part-time work until her last son entered kindergarten and then she too went on to a full-time teaching position at Harmony Christian School where she taught 5th and 4th grades. Pamela became Elementary Supervisor after four years there. She then moved to the position of Principal of Harmony in 1998 and stayed until 2006 when she needed some time off after the accidental passing of her daughter-in-law. Pamela returned to work at SUNY Orange for a couple years until her mother became ill and came to live with them at the Burns household. She started working once again at a Day Care Center called Nana’s House in Monticello, N.Y. for one year until she was called to the position of Principal at Leptondale Christian Academy in 2014. Unfortunately, the school closed this past June due to low enrollment. She is now happy to be serving as the Director of Trinity Preschool in Walden.

Pamela’s passion in life is serving the Lord and promoting Christian education. She is completely dedicated to her position here at Trinity Preschool and is looking forward to the upcoming school year with great expectations.

Ruth Schwartz

Ruth Schwartz

My name is RUTH SCHWARTZ and I will be the teacher of the four-year old class at Trinity Preschool. For the past 10 years I was the Pre-K teacher at Leptondale Christian Academy and also served as the supervisor of the Early Childhood Education Department. Prior to that I home schooled our two sons. They are now out of the house and married, but I am still teaching! Teaching has allowed me to use some of the gifts and talents that God has given me. It has allowed me to pour God's love into the lives of my students and their families while giving the children a fun learning experience and preparing them for kindergarten. I am so glad to have the opportunity to teach at Trinity.

Cheri O'Hare

Cheri O'Hare

My name is Mrs. Cheri O'Hare. I serve as the classroom teacher in the 3 year old class, affectionately known as "The Owl Class", at Trinity Preschool. This will be my 3rd year serving this class at Trinity, and my, (shhhhhh), 26th year teaching!! I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Ithaca College, and began my teaching career, in preschool, as the music teacher/substitute teacher at another nursery school about 20 years ago, when my girls began attending school there.

My girls are now 23, 20, and 18. Two are away at college, and one just began her career as a teacher too! My son, who attended Trinity Preschool, is now 12, and about to embark on a journey through his teen years and (yikes!) Middle School! My husband, children and I live in the Hamlet of Wallkill with 4 cats, a crazy hound dog, and numerous goldfish!

Over the years, I've been blessed to have taught music to all ages, but preschoolers have just captured my heart, and then God gave me the opportunity to become a preschool teacher! What a blessing it has been to teach at Trinity! I am so looking forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and sharing the love of Jesus with His precious little one's. Thank you so much for sharing them with me!
